Toothed metal gasket is a kind of solid metal gasket. Generally, precision lathe or special milling machine is used to process the two sides of the metal flat gasket into a concentric 90 degree included angle to form a wavy zigzag groove. Since the contact with other sealing surfaces is a line contact of multiple concentric circles, it has a labyrinth sealing effect. Different metal materials can be selected according to different media and working conditions. In most cases, the toothed gasket can be combined with other non-metallic materials to achieve better sealing effect. Refer to metal toothed combined gasket. If it is directly used without covering sealing layer, it can also achieve good sealing effect, but it is easy to damage the flange surface in high-pressure occasions. Therefore, the roughness of the sealing surface is generally required to be above Ra1.6um.

Product features

Low preload has good sealing effect even under high pressure. It is especially suitable for high temperature, high pressure and alternating working conditions. It is an ideal substitute for traditional spiral wound gaskets and metal clad gaskets. The pure metal toothed gasket is easy to damage the flange surface, so the flange sealing surface shall be machined when replacing the gasket. It can be combined with graphite, tetrafluoro and other non-metallic materials to achieve better use effect.
