Nitrile butadiene rubber NBR1906 is the first low nitrile brand product in China. Its outstanding characteristics are excellent low temperature resistance and resilience. It has a good balance between low temperature resistance, elasticity and oil resistance. It is widely used in aviation, packaging, gaskets, oil seals and other oil resistant fields that require low temperature flexibility. In the production process of low nitrile brand, due to the involvement of multi-stage continuous monomer addition, the process is complex, and industrial production is difficult. Domestic related products are monopolized by Aramco, Ruiweng, Nandi, etc., and key materials are subject to long-term restrictions. To this end, Lanzhou Chemical Research Center takes the lead and cooperates with Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and Northwest Chemical Sales Branch to carry out joint research based on the urgent needs of the domestic market.

In order to break the technical barrier, the research group has devoted itself to tackling key problems, sharpening the sword for ten years, adhering to independent innovation, starting with the copolymerization reaction mechanism, deeply studied the influence of monomer addition process on bound nitrile, clarified the structure activity relationship between polymerization formula and product performance, repeatedly verified the process formula, broke through the key core technology of low bound nitrile regulation, and opened up the "last mile" of industrial production.

At the same time, in order to ensure the smooth industrialization, R&D and production technicians seriously discussed and formulated industrial production plans, focused on key process parameters, and constantly refined and improved the operation process. Lanzhou Petrochemical Company carefully organized and operated with precision. Lanzhou Center timely took samples, analyzed and evaluated them on the spot. Through full cooperation and close cooperation, it successfully produced a new product with low nitrile brand NBR1906 that fully met the requirements by combining technical indicators such as nitrile content and Mooney viscosity.
